Dr. Norma Barnett

Dr. Norma A.  Barnett was born in Kingston Jamaica who then immigrated to Birmingham, England where she completed her Post Secondary Education as State Registered Nurse and State Certified Midwife.   After marriage to Pastor Robert Barnett she immigrated to Canada with her first son Andrew. During her stay in Canada, she being hungry for knowledge continued her formal education by attending the University of Alberta where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Diploma in Post-Secondary and Higher Education.

She obtained a Bachelor Degree in Christian Counselling from Parkersberg University, Masters Degree in Christian Counselling, and conferred Doctorate in Christian Counselling, from IAUGT. She received a PhD. in Counselling and Clinical Psychology from Bircham International University,  Europe.  Diplomate Certified Psychotherapist Counsellor, Certified Marriage Counsellor from The Evangelical Order of Pastoral Counsellors of America.

Currently has a private practice in Counselling families, individuals, relationships, abused women, child mental health, and spiritual, issues.

Dr.  N.  Barnett is Co-pastor with her husband, Elder R Barnett at Refuge Temple Apostolic Church where she is the Women’s President, Counsellor, Christian Educator, administrator and motivator. She is the President of Grace Bible College (Edmonton), Ministers in Training, Retreat ministry, Prison ministry, and Street ministry. Dr. N Barnett is the author of God Loves Abused Women Too and Sienna in Search of her True Self.

Dr.  Barnett wears many hats but she still finds time to work in God’s vineyard. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 91:1, He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.
